Singing The Same Song – The Power Of Agreement

Singing The Same Song – The Power Of Agreement

When we pray together and praise together, prisons will be shaken!

Amos 3:3-5
3 Do two walk together unless they have agreed to do so? 4 Does a lion roar in the thicket when it has no prey? Does it growl in its den when it has caught nothing? 5 Does a bird swoop down to a trap on the ground when no bait is there? Does a trap spring up from the ground if it has not caught anything?

  • We Must Agree To Advance
    • Have you ever made the mistake of assuming you had agreement?
    • Have you ever tried to create consensus with stubborn people?
      • Stubborn – unwilling
    • Have you ever tried to create consensus with clueless people?
      • Clueless – unaware
    • Relationships Suffer When We Start Singing Different Songs
      • When we start moving in different directions
      • When we have unsettled disagreements
      • When we have unreconciled debts
    • Unison is fruit of unity
      • If you ever feel out of step (at work, at home, in church), the first thing you need to check is your level of agreement
      • Awareness
      • Assessment
  • The Power Of Agreement
    • People Respond To The Power Of Agreement
    • Acts 16 Paul And Silas At The Midnight Hour

Acts 16:25-26

      • When We Pray Together And Praise Together Prisons Will Be Shaken
      • Doors Will Be Opened
      • Chains Will Be Loosed/ The Chains That Bind Us Will Be Broken

Acts 16:29-30

    • Swipe My Card

2 Chronicles 20:21-22
21 After consulting the people, Jehoshaphat appointed men to sing to the LORD and to praise him for the splendor of his holiness as they went out at the head of the army, saying: “Give thanks to the LORD, for his love endures forever.” 22 As they began to sing and praise, the LORD set ambushes against the men of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir who were invading Judah, and they were defeated.

  • He Put The Worshippers In Front Of Warriors
    • Worship Creates Possibilities That Are Otherwise Impossible
      • We would rather fight for it than faith for it
      • We would rather work for it than worship for it
    • The Most Important Battles Can’t Be Won With Bruit Force (you can’t bully everything into submission)
      • The battle for the love of others
      • The battle of beating bad habits
      • The battle of getting past the hurt and hate
      • The battle for eternity
        • We must come to the cross singing this same song… “Give thanks to the LORD, for his love endures forever.”
    • As Soon As They Started Worshipping, God Started Winning
      • When worship comes first, God says, “Swipe My Card!” I’ll pay for it. I will prevail. I will provide.
      • Prisons will be shaken
      • Doors will be opened
      • Chains will be loosed
