Find A Way

Find A Way

The thing you’re holding onto in the darkness has to be greater than what you are facing.

James 1:2-4
2 Consider it a great joy, my brothers, whenever you experience various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. 4 But endurance must do its complete work, so that you may be mature and complete, lacking nothing.

  • You Must Find A Will To Find A Way
    • Will — the attitude used to control and direct your thoughts and actions, or a determination to do something, despite any difficulties or opposition
      • You must develop this discipline: to focus on finding the joy
      • When you get distracted – you will allow others, the enemy, money, stress, struggles… to steal your joy
        • Your opponents wake up every day with desire to take your joy
    • “Knowing That The Testing Of Your Faith Produces Endurance”—you cannot build strength without resistance; the muscle has to be challenged in order to get stronger
      • So many relationships cannot make it to the end of the marathon because they don’t pass this test
      • They look at trials as evidence that isn’t working
      • The enemy is saying evidence when God is saying the goal is endurance

James 1:4
4 But endurance must do its complete work, so that you may be mature and complete, lacking nothing.

  • It’s Working, Let It Work
    • Endurance Is Working On You – chiseling away the excess and extra, the things you don’t need, the weight you weren’t meant to carry, values that were incorrectly prioritized
    • Endurance Is Working In You
      • Mature – growing you, there are things you wouldn’t do now
      • Complete, Lacking Nothing – we often think of trials as takers
        • God is saying I’m going to use this test to add something to your tool belt
        • Your going to have something on the other side that you didn’t have when you went in

Daniel 6:26-28
26 “I issue a decree that in every part of my kingdom people must fear and reverence the God of Daniel.
“For he is the living God
and he endures forever;
his kingdom will not be destroyed,
his dominion will never end.
27 He rescues and he saves;
he performs signs and wonders
in the heavens and on the earth.
He has rescued Daniel
from the power of the lions.”
28 So Daniel prospered during the reign of Darius and the reign of Cyrus the Persian.

      • Think about what he could hear
        • their steps,
        • their growl
