The Bournes

Tim & Carrie Bourne are the founding Pastors of Genesis Metro Church. In the summer of 2002, they led a small team to Frisco to begin this journey. Tim’s heart for a generation in need of connection to God moved him to risk everything so that some might find Him. He would tell you this has been the greatest adventure of his life.
Tim entered the ministry at 16 years old. He met and married the love of his life, Carrie, while studying both Psychology and Theology for his undergraduate & graduate studies. They have four kids: Jordan & Kennedy, Titus and Silas. Carrie serves as the Women’s Pastor at GM, as well as serves in a variety of roles with the staff. They are blessed to live out their dreams hand-in-hand each day in ministry.
Carrie grew up in ministry as both of her parents served full time in ministry positions. Carrie’s heart and passion is simple – to serve people. She serves the church in many ways, is passionate about people and aims tirelessly to see women grow in their walk with God.
Their oldest son Jordan & his wife Kennedy serve on Wednesdays with Fuse Students, and Jordan leads the Worship Team at GM. Titus serves on the teaching team for Fuse Students & The Zone Ministries, and Silas Titus serves in The Zone, mentoring the next generation and helping to teach kids about Jesus.
Tim’s ministry philosophy is derived from the examples seen in Jesus and the book of Acts. A church is to be a community. At GM, the mantra mimics the ministry of Christ, “It’s all about people.” As Pastor, Tim has often quoted, “Seek first the Kingdom of God, and all these things will be added.” When we make God’s mission our mission, people, He will add what we need as we go.
Pastor Tim teaches strongly that connection to God and each other promotes transformation, life change. As a gifted speaker, He communicates the word of God with both humor and passion and challenge, full of easily applicable concepts for life. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll think on a deeper level; but mostly you will leave with hope that God loves you and has never left you.
