The Story Inside The Story

The Story Inside The Story

Matthew 10:29-31
29 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. 30 But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.

John 4:11
The woman said to him, “Sir, you have nothing to draw water with, and the well is deep. Where do you get that living water?

John 6:9
“There is a boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish, but what are they for so many?”

  1. The Father Cares
    1. Sometimes, you may feel like you have no value, God disagrees
    2. You might not think it’s a big deal to God, but if it is a big deal to you, that makes it a big deal to the Father
    3. HE CARES! DON’T EVER BELIEVE THE LIES THAT COMPETE WITH THIS TRUTH
  2. Jesus Cares
    1. Jesus tells the disciples to feed the people, the disciples have a different opinion
    2. They falsely believed God was confined to their personal limitations.
    3. There is no expense SO great that God would not gladly pay to provide for your greatest needs. He cares that MUCH!
  3. You Are Responsible For The Reply, Not The Resource
    1. Jesus was delivering a proclamation about perspective to the woman at the well and the disciples feeding the masses on the mountainside
      1. MY PROVISION IS BIGGER THAN YOUR PROCESS!
      2. I AM NOT CONFINED TO YOUR CONFIGURATION OF WHAT IS POSSIBLE
    2. We often allow our past experiences dictate what we think is currently possible
      1. God says, “the way that I’m gonna do it is bigger than the way you’re gonna do it”
    3. You can do the same thing and get a different result
      1. That’s hope for the marriage crisis, financial crisis, parenting crisis, professional crisis
      2. He does see the hairs on your head, the struggle, He knows it’s real
      3. Every experience has a purpose… every challenge is chiseling out life change…moving the believers towards a God-sized life and faith
    4. The greater story is…
      1. GOD’S PROVISION IS BIGGER THAN MY PROCESS
      2. GOD’S PROVISION IS BIGGER THAN MY PROBLEMS
      3. The problem is, we’re doing it all wrong
        1. We’re trying to put His story inside of our story
