Hope Begins With A Word

Hope Begins With A Word

We are sowing our way into our next season.

Galatians 6:9
And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.

Isaiah 61:1-2a
1The Spirit of the LORD is on me,
because the LORD has anointed me
to bring good news to the poor.
He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
2 to proclaim the year of the LORD’s favor…

and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes,
the oil of joy instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.
that they may be called oaks of righteousness,
the planting of the LORD, that he may be glorified.

  • Circumstances Make Suggestions
    • Circumstances suggested it was time to grieve
      • How can we find hope when everything around us is destroyed?
      • How can we find hope when sin has carried us to a place that is so dark?
      • How can we find hope when it feels like we have been locked away and forgotten?
      • How can we find hope when it appears our enemy has won?

    • With A Word From Heaven We Do Not Have To Surrender To Our Circumstances
      • David did not have to surrender to the giant in the valley
      • Joshua did not surrender to what appeared to be an invincible city called Jericho
      • Daniel slept comfortably while in the lion’s den
      • All of these hoped for an outcome opposite of what appeared possible
      • Hope Begins When God Sends A Word From Heaven
        • In Luke 4, God Sends “The Word” From Heaven To Earth To Fulfill This Word Spoken 700 years prior
        • Luke 4:20-21
        • 20 Then he rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant, and sat down. The eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fixed on him. 21 Then he began to tell them, “Today this scripture has been fulfilled even as you heard it being read.”
