Dive Into Friendship
To say that Genesis Metro Church is a church that is all about people, is stating the obvious. As we live out this theme, let's think about what that means on a basic friendship level.

Friendship is a process of ebbs and flows. It is surface. It has depth. Friendship is the glue that holds us together when we need a warm body to comfort or support or just listen. As I think about the many levels of friendships I have and I see, I am encouraged by the depth of love that pours out of these relationships on a weekly basis.

When I think about the word friendship from a Biblical perspective, I see many layers and levels that are spoken and taught about. I see the Psalmist write that there is a relationship that sticks closer than a brother - a friend. Also, the Psalms author writes, "as iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another." And then I think about Jesus himself as He lived life with the disciples...the intimacy they shared in living out their bold faith. The journey these guys were on together was one they would not have traded for the world. Wow! What a blessing to have that in place in their lives.

My prayer for you is that you find these relationships and you experience the depth the Scriptures speak of. I have to tell you, once you experience this level of friendship, you are forever grateful to have found it. I want you to have that functioning in your life. I want you to see it. To feel it. To trust it. To lean on it.

This is the type of relationship God wants for you. He offers this for you to experience real community in your life. God loves people. We should love people. And let people love us.

I challenge you to look at those around you and find someone to dive into a real friendship with. Blessings await this journey for you.
January Women's Social
Thanks for coming out for a great time of food and fellowship. We are really looking forward to a great year of women's ministry at Genesis Metro!

Bring on 2008!
Wow! I cannot believe 2007 has come and gone. Ancient history. Over.

How does time continue to fly by so quickly? It's the busyness of the everyday that gets me...family, dinner, work, laundry, basketball practice, baseball practice, church, socials, girls nights, date nights, more dinner, more laundry, kids school life, etc. etc. Your list may look different than mine. Or it may be similar. No matter what type of family system we have, we can all agree that life is busy.

Each year seems to best the last one in terms of a busy schedule. As the kids get older, as work gets busier, as more is expected of you with each stage of life. So, what makes it all balance? What is the x-factor that you cannot live without?

It's really simple. The recipe for healthy balance in this busy life that we live is priority on our relationship with God. Talking with Him. Reading about Him and His character.

Romans 12:1,2 says, "I urge you brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God. This is your spiritual act of worship. Do not be conformed any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - His good, pleasing, and perfect will."

"But be transformed by the renewing of your mind." So, the question is, how do you renew your mind? Time with Him. Two key ingredients to growing in your faith, growing in spiritual maturity, growing in your life - prayer and Bible study. There is no simpler answer than this. Read. Absorb. Apply.

So, bring on 2008! It will only prove to bring more on your plate than 2007 did. You have the answer to renewing your mind in the midst of a very busy life. Be balanced and healthy in your approach. Seek Him first. And be transformed.
Hello!
This is the first post on our new blog site. Very exciting! If you are reading, I hope you will continue to join me as I gab about what's going on with the gals of Genesis Metro Church. There are lots of ways to meet new people, build great relationships and connect on a friendship basis. Just let me know if you have any questions at all regarding how this can happen for you.

I'll be using this blog to show pictures from our events, talk about upcoming socials and get- togethers and share my thoughts in general about living life here in Frisco & surrounding communities.

Have a great day! I am sure we will talk soon!
