Pastor Tim's Thoughts
We’re full swing into our Capital Campaign – can you feel the excitement? Are you talking about the dream? Are you reflecting on the life-change that God’s lead you through since being at GM?

I’ve been blessed by the many stories of how people in our GM family are coming up with creative ideas to raise money. Our children in KidZone have been selling baked goods, lemonade and water bottles over the last 4 weeks, while learning about the Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14-31). Our students have been trading for bigger-or-better items to eventually sell and donate the proceeds. And I’ve heard stories of our adults restoring cars to sell, getting a second job, and organizing a sponsored run.

This Sunday will be very exciting! Our KidZone children will present their gifts towards Living the Dream. And they’ll show their video and pictures of how they raised money. Parents, please email your pictures to Jason Luce so we can show in services this Sunday. He needs the pictures by end of day today. The Student Ministry will present their short-term gifts and long-term goals. We’ve had students donating their babysitting money, selling necklaces and more.

It’s so exciting to hear that our children and students are catching the vision. They’re continuing to prepare the way for those not yet at GM… those that still need to hear about Jesus’ love for them and experience true life-change. They realize that someone gave of their time, energy and money so that today, GM can continue to impact the community and world for Christ.

Join me on Sunday as we celebrate with our church family! It’s gonna be great!

Pastor Tim's Thoughts
You know, in this day and age there are so many things competing for our attention. Our kids are involved in school, sports, playgroups and more. Work is demanding more and more of our time. And we’re too busy to connect with friends.

So now more than ever, be careful to seek God in your daily activities. With every decision, we have the opportunity to seek the Lord. It's not a dependence on ourselves, but a dependence on Him that leads us to success.

If you want to see God move in your life, look to Him. Humble yourself and ask what His will is for you.

And most importantly, when we see God's provision we must immediately turn to worship Him. He will provide for us – that's not the question. The question is, what's your response? He is worthy of everything we have – all of our possessions, our time, energy and money. And we must worship Him.

As I meet with the families of our church for the capital campaign, I'm reminded of our motto – it's all about people. It's about the fellowship and connection. It's about sharing the Gospel. It's about the love. And we've definitely experienced the love of people around us this week.

Carrie and I express a heartfelt appreciation for the small army of men and women who helped us move this past week. You rolled up your sleeves and helped to pack, clean, and move furniture. We continue to be amazed by the people that God has surrounded us with – people who selflessly give of their time and energy to ensure that our family is taken care of. Thank you.

This Sunday will be a special day. I encourage you to be there, and bring someone new! You won't want to miss out!
Clothe-A-Child

Pastor Tim's Thoughts
Are you sensing the immediacy of the moment? Do you have a willing spirit? Are you ready?

The greater vision requires a decision – are you ready to do what God has called you to do? Are you ready to take that step (or leap) of faith, which may seem crazy to some? Are you ready for the huge life-change moment, one that you'll be talking about for years to come?

Be ready to make this decision. Anchor your life to the cross. Be connected to the Vine (John 15:5). Don't miss seeing the needs of others around you – when you serve, you're not serving man or the church. You're serving the King, who gave up His very life for you and me. That's it - He's all that we need!

Genesis Metro continues to meet the needs of people in our surrounding community, as well as internationally through missions. So many in our church family are creating ministry service opportunities rather than just being consumers. And that's what we're all about – people. Serving people. Loving people. Meeting the needs of people. Sharing the Gospel with people.

So I ask again: Are you sensing the immediacy of the moment? Do you have a willing spirit? Are you ready? Our Lord doesn't require perfection. He only requires us to be ready.

Be ready.
Capital Campaign Info Meetings
Everyone is invited to attend an information meeting in the evenings, the week of September 21-27. These meetings, held in the homes of our staff and leadership, will provide an opportunity for you to watch the campaign DVD (remember the camera man at church last Sunday?) and receive an information packet. Also, Tim will share from his heart what this campaign means from a spiritual and physical point of view. The impact that this will have on our community and His kingdom is incredible! If you have any questions, please email Michelle Lance at michelle.lance@genesismetro.org.
Child Dedication
Next Sunday, September 21, we'll have a time of dedication for any newborns, children and their families that would like to be dedicated. This is a special time for the parents, as well as our entire church family. Sign up at the back table on Sunday. Email Carrie Bourne at carrie.bourne@genesismetro.org with any questions.
Men's Rock Climbing
It's on! Next Friday, September 19, from 7 to 10pm, we'll head to Stoneworks Indoor Rock Climbing in Carrollton for rock climbing. All levels (beginner to expert) are encouraged to attend. The cost is approx. $20/person. This is a great opportunity to invite your friends, neighbors and co-workers! Carpool is leaving Pink at 6:15pm SHARP! If you have any questions, email men@genesismetro.org. See you at the top!

Weekly Bible studies will begin in a few weeks. This is a great opportunity to get to know new people while diving into God's Word. Sign up at the back table on Sunday. Email Michelle Lance at michelle.lance@genesismetro.org with any questions.
Pastor Tim's Thoughts
We learned on Sunday that God has a greater vision for us. That there is something bigger going on.

We experienced on Sunday more members of our GM family baptized at the Newmans’ house. What a tremendously fun and fulfilling time of fellowship and connection that was! That definitely marks a milestone in time for me!

We witnessed on Sunday the camera man that's helping to take our church to the next level by creating our campaign DVD for us.

There is something bigger going on, but this is not without sacrifice.

Jesus, Job and Joseph all sacrificed because they knew that there is something bigger going on. In the midst of it all, they had a greater vision. They realized that the bad situations are not our destination – they are only appointments.
As we watch the news and see people evacuating cities across south Texas, we pray for their peace and safety. We help as we are able. We know that Almighty God is in control and will watch over His children.

Believe that God has a greater plan for your life. Live for the greater vision to know that something bigger is going on and you don't want to miss it! Cling to the fact that Jesus loves every one of us and has a plan for us!

This Sunday is going to be outstanding! I can't wait to worship with you. Know that we will have our regular services, rain or shine.
GM Capital Campaign
This week continues the next season of ministry and growth at Genesis Metro Church. As I mentioned on Sunday morning, each person in our church family will receive a phone call inviting them to a capital campaign information meeting. These meetings, held in the homes of our staff and leadership, will provide an opportunity for you to watch the campaign DVD (remember the camera man at church last Sunday?) and receive an information packet. Also, I’ll share from my heart what this campaign means from a spiritual and physical point of view. The impact that this will have on our community and His kingdom is incredible!

Our students will also have an information meeting during their regularly-scheduled LifeGroups on Wednesday nights.

Our children will begin learning about their campaign involvement this Sunday in KidZone. Parents, be on the look-out for information on how you can support them. A flyer will be sent home with them on Sunday, and you’ll receive an email next week.

I’m so excited that this time is drawing near! We’ve been talking about it since our Vision Dinner back in January. We talked about the value of His kingdom – that it’s worth everything that we are. People have given so much because they’ve found value in His kingdom. We are a church body that loves each other and sees that value. Therefore we need to grow our influence in our community. Share the love that Christ gave us with those around us! Be excited about our faith! Share how He has changed your life – your job, your marriage, your children, your perspective.

We’ve all witnessed it; every challenge before GM has been met, through faith in Christ. We’ll surpass our goals. Just look back on this incredible summer. Through our VBS, children came to know Christ personally, and raised over $1,000 for our mission trip. Through the Student Ministry, five teenagers accepted Christ and committed their life to Him. Through the Honduras mission trip, one of our students accepted the call to full-time missions, and over 1,000 people were saved including one of our own! All of this, because of God’s favor upon our commitment to be faithful to Him and spread the Gospel. We have, because He has given to us.

I know we’re all ready to take that next step in this dream, and I thank God daily for each one of you.
Pastor Tim's Thoughts
It's good to be connected to those that are connected. And making connections is what we're all about. Connections that share the love of Christ in Honduras. Connections that share our lives daily with each other through MasterLife and LifeGroups. Connections that challenge us through retreats for men, women and students. Connections that show kids who God is through VBS and camps. Connections that stretch our faith and force us to keep our focus on Him and the work of His kingdom.

If we're going to be part of the greater vision, we must stay connected to those that are connected to the Vine (John 15:5). We must be able to see the big picture; to see beyond our immediate circumstances and situations. God will place those people in our life, but we must be open to listen to them. Only then can it change the outcome of the entire vision. Because ultimately, if we want to be part of the greater vision, then we need to be connected to a greater God!

It's exciting to see all of the ministries at GM growing! It's exciting to see our people growing and to share in their life-changing experiences. And more specifically as an answer to prayer, it's exciting to have our Baptism Celebration at the Newman's home. Please be sure to bring your family and friends, and share in this time with us. God is so good!

As a reminder, on Sunday we'll have a Capital Campaign videographer shooting every aspect of GM - from set up and sound check, to worship and preaching, to KidZone and Children's Ministry, and tear down. They'll be at the Baptism as well. Shake their hand. Welcome them for the day to GM.

Keep your eyes open, fixed on Him and He will change you. Allow God to show Himself powerful and protecting. Extend grace and mercy to others, even when judgment is in order. Embrace Him, His will and His direction, and we'll get to that place of faith that moves mountains!

Who wants to be part of the greater vision? I do! Are you with me?
Baptism Celebration
Join us this Sunday from 3 to 5pm for our Baptism Celebration. We will meet at Jim & Dru Newman's house located north on Legacy off of Eldorado. Their portion of Legacy is too new for Google Maps. Directions: Head north on Legacy, past the Cobb Farms entrance. Follow the signs to the first two-story, red brick home on the left. The address is 12557 Legacy Drive.

Please bring a lawn chair and food. We'll have the grill going, so bring enough food for your family (either to grill or finger foods), and a side dish or dessert to share with others. GM will supply soft drinks and paper products. This is always a special time for our church family, and we are excited to share in it with you! If you have any questions, please email Michelle Lance at michelle.lance@genesismetro.org.
Women's MasterLife Commissioning
For the next group of ladies completing MasterLife, we'll meet for a night of worship and commissioning on Friday, September 5. Plan to go for a coffee date afterward. Be sure you're there. Get childcare for the kids. You won't want to miss it! The location is to be determined. If you have any questions, email us at women@genesismetro.org.
Pastor Tim's Thoughts
Sunday was such an encouraging day for Genesis Metro Church. The Mission Team was on fire! God's spirit filled the room as we worshiped and celebrated Him as a corporate body. We also enjoyed many guests from area churches who participated in the Honduras effort along with us this year. What greatness to partner in ministry with them!

I want to put forth a challenge to you. If you have any leading that you might be interested in attending the trip next summer, please let us know! God may begin to ask even you, (yes-you!) to be a part of what He is doing in Honduras through Genesis Metro and other partners. Will you say no to God? Allow Him to push you, shape you, mold you into what He has for you. I promise you will not regret it!
